4 METABOLIC SYNDROME, HYPERTENSION AND DEPRESSION: A DANGEROUS ASSOCIATION FOR POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN

Abstract Background Depression(D) is a common condition in postmenopausal women, related to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease(CVD), however, the relationship between metabolic syndrome(MetS) and D needs be better clarified, same for association hypertension(H) D. The diagnosis yet challenging problem clinical practice, there wide underdiagnosis this condition, so evidence that Dwell-identified population affected by MetS, presents high risk, occurrence, useful CVD prevention. Our study aims assess prevalence syndrome or hypertension diagnosed according current guidelines, women with D, its role as independent factor. Results rate was significantly higher among MetS:0.17%, 18 than CG:0.08%, 45 Chi-squared 9.8, Odds ratio 2.3, c.i.95%, p<0.0017. H:0.17%, 107 25.9, 2.4, p<0.0000. cardiopathy:0.18%, 10 5.9, p<0.0014. hypertensive cardiopathy:0.12%, 43 p<0.05. Conclusion There lack our because controlled trials depression 10-15%. However, we observed interesting MetS which even tighter when restricted H; otherwise, doesn't change cardiomyopathy.
